CRS Memorial Endowment

RAAC - Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore

Let’s create a peaceful, healthy living environment together!
CRS Memorial Endowment

        C. R. Swaminathan, our past president, dedicated his life to the education and economic development of the Coimbatore region for over four decades. He was the President of the Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC) for several years in 2006. The friends and admirers of CRS felt it was appropriate to create an endowment to serve the causes that were dear to his heart. The income from the fund would help students from socially and economically weaker sections of society pursue their education. It is also proposed to recognize those who serve society in the memory of CRS by giving awards. CRS was a forerunner of leadership at professional bodies that include CII, IIF, CODISSIA, ICCIC, and SIEMA at the regional and national levels. He has played defining roles in NGO’s Siruthuli and RAAC. CRS, apart from being a pillar of RAAC, had been associated with it for more than two decades and was its president at the time he passed away. Some of the industrialists and educators who were closely associated with CRS felt that it was appropriate that RAAC undertake the project in memory of CRS and implement it.

Hence, it is proposed to collect at least Rs 3 crore for the endowment fund to serve the purpose. RAAC will hold the endowment fund and manage it in the manner directed by the project committee constituted for the fund. RAAC has formed a committee to take this project forward. An Extra Ordinary General Meeting of the members of RAAC was convened on December 2, 2022, to obtain approval for accepting the endowment and the bye-laws for administering the endowment. The creation of the endowment, the acceptance of the funds for it, and the Bye Law amendment were approved at the above-mentioned Extra Ordinary General Meeting and incorporated in the Bye Laws of the Association of RAAC as Bye Law 14.15. The name of the endowment shall be CRS Memorial Endowment, and its office shall be located in the registered office of RAAC, which at present is PSG Software Park II, Avinashi Road, Peelamedu, Coimbatore, 641 004. RAAC shall provide accommodation and secretarial services to the endowment
